New Year 's Ride/Lodging

Several have talked about wanting an overnight ride and this location has been suggested. Since most will have a few days off at New Years, we are suggesting this timeframe. The DRose Inn & Cabins in Leakey currently have availability for us Dec. 31 to Jan. 3rd. Rates run from $75 to $160. Go to www.droseinn.com for details, Best in Texas, 2006 , 2007, 2008 and 2009 Ride Texas magazine Readers' Choice Awards. I will be in contact with the owner Oct. 20th and will setup a block of rooms for 2 weeks, allowing everyone time to call making their own reservations, after two weeks, the rooms/cabins return to inventory. State that you want to make a reservation with Star #175 when booking your reservation. This is an Inn & Cabins for motorcyclists & bicyclists exclusively. Also, the Buckhorn Bar and Grill is having a New Year’s Eve party on the 31st. The bar is just 4 miles south of Leakey.
We will be working on getting rides put together for this event also. All interest in leading or putting together a ride is welcome -- coordinate interest or suggestions with Ray.
Since this is an unofficial event...feel free to pass this info on to friends or others you feel will like to participate.
Hope everyone can participate -- the more the merrier! I'll send the Kerrville gang and Oscar's gang a copy.

I think this will be a fun and relaxing event. Kathy and I have reservations and several others are considering going.

Karen and I are going and plan on having a great time. Karen will be in the car so we have transportation to and from the Buckhorn Bar and Grill on New Years Eve. We'll also be bringing our own party supplies.

If you don't want to stay all three nights, you can stay one or two nights and ride with us on Friday or Saturday.

John I am sure we will all have a great time. Would love to have more go but if it is just us we will still have a great time.
